
Julie Ellen "Tawny", Kitaen, was an American actress, model and media persona. She was born on May 7, 1961 to May 7 2021. Her acting career on television began with Malibu (1983), and California Girls (1985). She also starred as Gwendoline, a comedy character in the Land of the Yik-Yak (both 1984) as well as Bachelor Party (1985). Kitaen was widely recognized for her work in numerous video music videos for heavy metal such as Ratt's (1984) "Back for More", Whitesnake ?Ts ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake ?Ts ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the 2000s Kitaen began appearing in reality television shows, including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which focused on Kitaen's battle with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was the youngest of three children. She was born in San Diego in 1961 to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was an actress and former beauty pageant participant , as well as Terry Kitaen who worked for an organization that made neon signs. Kitaen was the daughter of a Russian-Jewish father and a Scottish mother. Kitaen was raised Jewish. At the age of 12 she began to adopt the name "Tawny" and came up with on her own. [6] She was dyslexic as a young child. This caused her to drop out from Mission Bay High School. 7 years old, she was at the age of 14, with backstage passes following a Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium,[8] she experienced the high-end treatment that Frampton's girlfriend Penny and set out to attain the same for herself.
